What is the School Council?

The School Council is a group of parents/carers, school staff, and members of the local community who support the work of the school and help to ensure that pupils receive the best possible education and school experience.

Who’s on the School Council?

Hazel Johnstone (Head Teacher) attends Council meetings too.

School Council Aims

The School Council has 3 main aims:

  1. To promote contact and the sharing of information between parents and staff at the school, and between the school and the wider community.
  2. To represent the general interests of parents to the school and to the education authority.
  3. To assist the school in the provision of equipment and opportunities for pupils at the school.

What does the School Council do?

The School Council meets about 6 times a year. We are involved with a wide variety of activities:

Meetings

We know it's not always easy to attend school events. Please get in touch if you think that there are ways that School Council access could be improved (e.g. providing interpreters).
